Lately, I’ve been working on a lot of projects and I love it. I’ve been working on a few new ones, open sourcing a few that I’ve been using personally for years, and reviving some old ones.
One such old project is Draw. It’s a real-time multiplayer drawing app from late 2013. I created it mostly because I love doodling and wanted to doodle from my phone or my computer.
Draw is the v1 of the app and it was open source software. I closed the access to the repo to work on v2. For v2, I rebranded it to Scribbling.app. I’ll open source v2 soon.
I’ve owned the scribbling.app domain since a while now and been meaning to move Draw over to it. I figured now is as good a time as any.
Here’s a screenshot of the application –
Features
👩❤️👨 Multiplayer
Scribbling.app still has the multiplayer aspect to it. It’s just better now. It’s smoother and I’ve added the pointers to show where the other collaborators are on the canvas.
🗒️ Sessions
Draw was a single canvas app and it didn’t maintain the history. There was a limitation with Firebase at that time and I chose to drop that feature. Now, you get your own session. You can create a new session, give it a name. You can use the session link to retrieve your artwork.
😎 WebMCP integration
Now this is something fun. It’s still in an experimental phase, but I was playing around with the idea of humans and bots collaborating. I wanted to give the AI models a way to easily interact with the working canvas. I was amazed at how lovely this feature turned out to be. It is slow. I made it slightly faster and I’m sure there are more optimizations to make it faster.
Here’s the prompt I gave ChatGPT – “draw a cat with a glass of juice on the beach in the sun”. This is the outcome when I used GPT 5.5 with High effort –
It used the WebMCP tools I added to the app to draw this.
Here’s the whole video showing this in realtime while I collaborate and make changes to the canvas in the browser –
Here’s the same prompt with GPT 6.1 with Low effort –

History
The day after I created Draw (the v1 of this app), I showed it to my friends from work and we started messing around with it. One of them drew something graphic (<3) and showed it to another friend, who thought it was an Onion.
That quickly became an inside joke as to how we were all Onions™. The artwork in question is still the display pic of our Telegram group chat to this day. This part is mostly for my homies <3. Y’all know what’s up!
Conclusion
Hope you like it, use it, and have fun! I will work towards open sourcing the app ASAP.
